Since we stayed in Knoxville for Independence Day (pictures over at Josh's Jaunts!) we decided to do something fun at the weekend and went to Asheville, NC to go visit the numerous breweries and taste their brew.
First stop: Thirsty Monk. Notice the names such as "EPIC Brainless on Raspberries" or "Nostradamus" and "Evil Twin". Of course we didn't try all of them, the evil twin was a Berliner Weisse, very good for summer day.
Next stop: Wicked Weed. That was even more interesting, with melon, ginger and pepper beer. Fascinating what is possible beyond Pils ;)
On we went to an old British bus for a desert (hot chocolate brownie with ice cream ^^):

We ended up at the Lobster Trap where we had a beer from their brewery and my first Oyster experience. Well, I guess you have to get used to it... On the way we came across this fellow:
